Welcome to the website of Féile Lios Tuathail, Listowel’s new traditional music festival.
Féile Lios Tuathail is a celebration of traditional Irish music, song, dance & storytelling and is inspired by the rich traditional arts heritage of North Kerry and the expertise gathered by the people of Listowel in hosting 14 Fleadhanna Cheoil na hEireann events since 1971. The Festival highlights all that is good in Irish culture and caters for traditional music enthusiasts with a concert featuring one of Ireland's top groups, workshops on a variety of instruments & traditional singing and informal afternoon and evening sessions in over 15 pubs throughout Listowel. The aim is to bring the best talent in national and local traditional arts to the people of Listowel and North Kerry and to attract more visitors to the Heritage Town of Listowel.
Other events include a Traditional Singers Club, dance performances, ‘Music in Schools’ programme, and a lecture on one of North Kerry’s famous musicians. Young people also play an important role in the Festival with an Open Youth Music Session held on Sunday afternoon. Whatever your tastes in traditional music, song & dance, this certainly is a weekend not to be missed.
